Jay L. Helm, Chairman
Mr. Helm is the Chairman of American Residential Group™, Ltd. Prior to forming American Residential Group™ he served for fifteen years as the Managing Partner of Lincoln Property Company in the Oklahoma and Arkansas Region. During his tenure with Lincoln, Mr. Helm coordinated the acquisition of over 10,000 units in thirty-six apartment communities, 6,000 of which are located in Oklahoma, and construction of 1,172 units in four apartment communities.
During the nine years prior to Mr. Helm's association with Lincoln, he was a commercial broker and developer for his own firm, J.L. Helm Investment Real Estate. Prior to founding his own company, Mr. Helm worked as a commercial loan officer at Midland Mortgage Company and at the Hardesty Company in charge of single-family development.
Mr. Helm graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1970. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University and A&M Colleges, on the Board of Trustees for OSU/Tulsa, the University Center at Tulsa Board of Directors, the Board of Directors for F & M Bank and Trust Company and the Tulsa Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Tulsa Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and is active in a number of civic projects, including the Tulsa Area United Way.
Steven B. Ganzkow, Vice Chairman
Mr. Ganzkow is the Vice Chairman of American Residential Group™, Ltd. Prior to forming American Residential Group™ he served for nine years as Acquisitions Partner for Lincoln Property Company, coordinating the multi-family acquisition process for the Southwest. Mr. Ganzkow has been involved in the acquisition of over 8,500 apartment units. These acquisitions were the result of portfolio transactions with institutional sellers.
Prior to joining Lincoln, Mr. Ganzkow spent seventeen years in executive management positions in the commercial real estate financing and investment field. During this period he was involved in over $500,000,000 of real estate investments.
Mr. Ganzkow graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa. He has seventeen years executive management experience in the commercial real estate financing and investment field. Mr. Ganzkow currently serves on the Board of Living Arts and is President of the Brady Village Owners’ Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, for which he is past President. He also served on the Executive Advisory Board for The University of Tulsa.
Robert K. Leikam, President
Mr. Leikam is the President of American Residential Group™, Ltd. Mr. Leikam's career began as a commercial real estate banker with BOK Financial, where he originated several hundred million dollars in commercial real estate loans in the span of less than a decade. He specialized in multifamily construction financing, aiding in the development and construction of more than 3,500 apartment units across eight states. Mr. Leikam pursues new development and investment opportunities for American Residential Group and assists in property and asset management, risk management and strategic planning.
A fourth generation Tulsan, Mr. Leikam is extremely proud of his hometown and its current growth opportunities. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Oklahoma State University. He is a member of ULI-Oklahoma and NAIOP Tulsa.
Mr. Leikam and his wife have two children. They are members at the Church of St. Mary. They are also actively involved in charitable organizations within the Tulsa community, serving on fundraising committees for the Alzheimer's Association and Emergency Infant Services, among others.
Cynthia J. Johnson, VP-Director of Investor Relations & Finance
Ms. Johnson received her Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Nebraska. Ms. Johnson began her professional career with Lincoln Property Company, serving as the Assistant Controller and Controller in the Tulsa administrative office and an LPC regional accounting office in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Johnson was promoted to Vice President of Finance for American Residential Group™ when the company was formed in 1997.
Ms. Johnson's responsibilities for American Residential Group™ include: Treasury and Cash Management, Owner/Investor Financial Analysis and Reporting, Insurance and Risk Management, Benefit Plan Analysis, Supervision of Human Resources, ProForma Analysis for Development Deals, Corporate Budget Preparation and Accounting and Construction Cost Accounting. Additionally, Ms. Johnson serves as the primary financial contact with lenders, investors and third-party consultants.
Ms. Johnson regularly attends professional development classes and seminars to keep abreast of industry and legislative changes. Ms. Johnson is an alumnus of Leadership Tulsa, which enables her service to community non-profit boards and committees, in addition to providing an excellent professional networking resource.
Amber Bayles, CAM, VP-Property Management
Ms. Bayles is the Vice President of Property Management for American Residential Group™. Ms. Bayles began her career in the Real Estate Industry in 1996 by joining Lincoln Property Company for the lease-up of Lincoln on Memorial. Ms. Bayles is responsible for the day to day operations and leasing activities on all of our Tulsa Communities as well as involved in the marketing/advertising efforts. She has also managed our new construction lease ups since she joined the American Residential Group™ team.
During her time with American Residential Group™ Ms. Bayles has won Business Manager of the Year three times and our All American Award twice. Ms. Bayles has also won the Apartment Manager of the Year Award at the 2002 Zenith Awards being recognized as the best of the best in Tulsa.
Ms. Bayles earned her CAM, Certified Apartment Management, designation from The Institute of Real Estate Management in 2003. She served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Tulsa Apartment Association in 2010 and 2011. She has served on the OMHA State Board and is very active in the Tulsa Apartment Association. She currently is chairing the Annual Zenith Award Committee for TAA. Ms. Bayles is also a member of Tulsa Young Professionals, Brady Arts District Business Association and other committees in Downtown Tulsa. Ms. Bayles is also active with the National Apartment Association and attends various conferences throughout the year.
Toni Palmer, Development Coordinator/IT Manager
Ms. Palmer is the Development Coordinator for American Residential. Ms. Palmer joined the Financial Department of Lincoln Property Company in 1989 as a Project Accountant and transitioned into that same role at American Residential.
Ms. Palmer is responsible for the coordination of documents/materials for developments and special projects and provides administrative and project support for Mr. Leikam.
Ms. Palmer also oversees the Information Technology for American Residential which includes Network Administration, Support and Training of all on-site staffs and Administrative Personnel in the use of both our Property Management and Accounting Web Based Software. She is also responsible for trouble shooting computer related issues and researching and implementing new software and hardware. Ms. Palmer is certified as a Social Media Marketing Strategist and continues to help American Residential Group’s exposure on Facebook, Twitter, and other Social Media Platforms. She has also helped coordinate a major renovation of all of community websites and continues to work on improving our web presence for both American Residential and its communities. Ms. Palmer won the “Behind the Scenes” award at the 2005 Zenith Awards.
Bill Nicholson, Maintenance Director
Mr. Nicholson is the Maintenance Director for American Residential Group. He is responsible for overseeing the supervision of the Maintenance Teams at our communities, Major HVAC and Plumbing Repairs, Irrigation Startup and Repairs, as well as supervising and coordinating contractors for Major exterior and interior repairs and upgrade projects. Mr. Nicholson is also involved in the Budgeting Process to help identify major repairs, maintenance and capital improvements that need to be addressed in the following years budgets.
Mr. Nicholson is also responsible for performing Quarterly Property Inspections which includes inspections of our community’s interiors, exteriors, pools, parking lots and any deferred maintenance items. He then prepares a detailed report with pictures and explanations and assignments and reviews with both the Maintenance and Management Teams.
Mr. Nicholson joined Lincoln Property Company in 1990 and since then has won the following awards: Service Tech of the Year 1993, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 / All American Award 2001, 2004 / Tulsa Apartment Association Diamond Award 1994, 2000, 2005. Mr. Nicholson holds a Mechanical Contractor License, HVAC, Gas Piping, Sheet Metal and Refrigeration License, and is certified in the Remediation of Mold and Hazardous Materials. Mr. Nicholson is also involved with the Tulsa Apartment Association and helps coordinate HVAC Classes and build models for those classes when needed.
